1. Preparing your passport and visa

Why can you learn even during these steps? Have you ever thought that your future career might require traveling abroad for business? And of course, the very first pass to set foot in another country is a valid passport. Besides that, many countries also require a second key to enter their land—which is a visa. You can read more about the difference between a passport and a visa at the following link: https://shorturl.at/mUDmd

The passport application procedure is not too difficult; you can apply online or directly at the immigration office with a 2026 fee of 100,000 VND per passport. As for the visa, the level of complexity depends on the country and the type of visa you need for your purpose (such as a tourist visa, a student visa, etc.). Usually, you will need to wait many days to receive the results from the consulate of the country you are applying to regarding whether your visa is granted.

Therefore, meticulousness and accuracy when providing information, as well as time management skills, are necessary for you to obtain these two items on time before your trip.

2. Getting ready to immerse yourself in different cultures

The current U-GO network spans across countries with cultures that are very distinct from Vietnam, from cuisine and attire to communication styles. Coming to the Summit, you will engage in teamwork with other female students starting even before the official Summit takes place—through online discussion sessions. English will be the key to help you chat and express your opinions, but an eager-to-learn, proactive, and respectful mindset is what truly makes those conversations and group work effective.

The Summit offers plenty of spaces for you to meet and chat with U-GO female students from various countries.

3. Introvert or extrovert no longer matters

Throughout the days of the Summit, you will continuously participate in various activities, from being an audience member in guest-sharing sessions to discussions where you need to contribute ideas, or surprise cocktail parties organized for you by the committee. All of these require listening, active participation, open sharing, and the ability to choose the appropriate communication style for each context.

If you think you are an introvert and therefore cannot fit in places with crowds, then I’m afraid you have accidentally underestimated yourself and denied yourself the chance to try. There are many introverts who can still step up and speak to a crowd. Do they have a special talent? No, it is because they have practiced and adapted to grow. What about you – do you dare to try?

4. A great motivation to learn English

The scholarship program has noticed that all of our ambassadors use English much more confidently after participating in the Summit. Did you know that a language not put into use is a lifeless language, as the ultimate purpose of this tool is communication.

In reality, conversations do not stop at the sample paragraphs you learn in textbooks. Circumstances will push you into situations where you have to exhaust all your English vocabulary and resources to make the other person understand what you want to say. The Summit is both a professional and friendly enough place to help you develop your English skills by leaps and bounds, simply because you can only use English to communicate—for days on end.

5. Saigonchildren will support you

Did you know that before participating in the Summit, an English course with saigonchildren will be meticulously designed to help you communicate better in English—because we want you to participate with the utmost confidence? This is also an exercise to test your commitment to the event for which you have been chosen to represent your peers.

During the classes, saigonchildren team members and volunteers will support you through communication practice and grammar sessions, on a weekly basis depending on your existing language background. We will also share with you the experience we have gained from participating in similar events like the Summit, so that you can have a truly confident and comfortable mindset before beginning.

The scholarship program does not select a student with perfect English ability to become an Ambassador. Other key factors that we always consider are an eager-to-learn spirit, proactiveness, and your sense of responsibility before, during, and after the Summit takes place.

Every journey requires a bit of courage and confidence- don’t hesitate, you might be this year’s U-GO Ambassador. Let’s begin. Apply at: https://forms.gle/MxcNz2QTUu3NFRxt6
